This one is for all you picture puzzle maniacs, who just like I like to stare into image and nitpick every detail that can tell you a little story told on the canvas :] There is aground ten (not gonna tell you exactly how many) storytelling elements in this picture, some of them are obvious, some of them are not, and some of them you can see only in closeups. So if you wanna mess around a bit, find and connect all those pieces together into a short story that this picture is showing. Just post them as a comments - I promise I'm gonna read trough all of them and best of them will be featured in my journal one week form now.
So lets the mini tiny contest begin
As for picture itself It was made for
ImagineFX magazine workshop section. Featured in upcoming issue 27, that should be on the market around
January 12 so if you can get it - get it :] Workshop is very extensive, showing my workflow and how I do the things I do, all with 30+ screenshot from production and few useful tips :] Hope you gonna like it
Image was done by hand in Photoshop, few references used but nothing significant. And I know that reflection in icicle is not realistic, but I did it on purpose to point something out - yes it is a clue
Crits and comments always welcome and remember about mini tiny story contest
Some closeups can be found here: [link]

Unintentional.
The Day of Rebirth came into history with out any indication of the horrors that would befall the lives of millions. For so many it was just another day. Scientists, business men, employees, firemen, police; none thought that the day of collapse was going to be that day. At 6:30 AM the world was normal, kids going to school, parents going to work, everyone groaning about Monday. At 6:31 AM Astronomers noticed something was on a collision course with Earth. At 6:31:34 AM they noticed that the object was going far too fast to be an asteroid. At 6:33 AM they found out why years from that fateful day it would be known as the Day of Rebirth.
Audrey was waiting at the coffee shop sipping her tea. Her leg bounced up and down in impatience. Where was he? She glanced down at her phone checking the time. 6: 29, the clock said. Brown eyes shifted person to person catching a flash of gold here, a pair of jeans there, not quite seeing the people passing by. She glanced back to her phone: 6:32. She’d had enough. Grabbing her purse she paid for her tea. Ten feet away from the seat she had just occupied Audrey hit the ground in pain. She couldn’t breathe, her head spun, she tried to stand only to scream as pain radiated from numbness. Something touched her shoulder and her head instinctively turned toward it. Brown eyes met glowing orange. The axe fell.
This a rough draft of what came to mind when I saw this... Not very good....
